About this strap.
Milanese mesh watch straps have grown in popularity as we have collectively realised that they represent the very best in terms of comfort, style and strength. The fine steel mesh is supremely comfortable. It is light and flexible but because of its density the hairs on your wrist will not get trapped in the strap itself. Just think, no more watch strap agony! The origin of this style of mesh is long and surprisingly interesting. The style first became popular as steel workers from, not unsurprisingly, Milan fashioned fine steel bracelets which were then used to wear watches on. The quality was instantly recognised and they grew and grew in popularity. Various watch bands have become synonymous with steel mesh watch bands. Notable brands include Breitling, Omega and IWC who have released numerous watch models on mesh bracelets to great acclaim from buyers. If you are interested in finding out a little more about Milanese mesh bracelets feel free to read our blog post here.
This particular Milanese watch bracelet has a highly adjustable butterfly clasp which means that you can adjust it to exactly where you want to size for your wrist without having to take our links which you would do with a linked watch strap. The added benefit of this easy sizing is that you can also adjust this strap as your body slightly changes with the seasons - slightly bigger in warm Summer and slightly smaller in the cold Winter.
This strap will look great on any IWC watch you care to mention - Pilot, Portofino or Portugeiser watches. The main watch photo here is from a customer who added his own IWC clasp to the mesh. Please note the clasp you will receive will be the clasp pictured in the majority of the photos here. If you are looking for a more IWC iconic style clasp then click here for an IWC look.
Recently this Milanese mesh style has had another revival due to 007, James Bond himself, wearing it on his Omega Seamaster in "No Time to Die". Bond has a huge influence on the watch world. This seems even more so given Daniel Craig was involved in the design of the Omega's latest offering. It is fair to say that IWC's relationship with high quality mesh watch straps more than predated Bond's latest offering.
